Want to get out on line while in your Hotel/Motel?
When trying to get out on the net or fax through your Hotel telephone line in your room: Disable Call Waiting Data transfers can be cut off by Call Waiting Dial *70 (or 1170 from a rotary phone) to disable Call Waiting for the next call. If *70 doesn't work, try #70, 70#, or 70*. To Dial out prefix. You may need a 9, prefix to your Internet access provider or to get a faxline out. If 9, does not work try 9,,, or 9 with blank space. Go to your Internet connection box the "Connect to" window that pops up and just type in 9, ahead of the number.

Fax yourself. If stuck w/o a printer but you need a hard copy use the hotel room to fax to yourself in the lobby and you have a printed version. It also is a good idea to have popular printer drivers installed in your laptop. Tape business cards or address labels to your notebook and AC adapter, but remember not to cover vent slots.
