The most southern of the Gulf Islands and fairly large in area, Saturna Island is a rural hideaway with abundant wildlife, quiet roadways and a sparse population. There are no camping facilities on the Island, however, there are several bed and breakfasts and resort cabins.

Boaters can dock at the government wharf. Amenities include two general stores, an organic orchard and garden shop, a pub overlooking the water, an excellent bakery and restaurant. Near Thompson Park at Saturna Beach is a new vineyard and winery.

Things to do:
Cycle along East Point Road beside Georgia Strait and take in the incredible view of the towering mainland mountains. Rent a boat for a fishing excursion or a kayak and tour the coastline. Plan a picnic and tackle the challenging hiking trail up Mount Warbuton Pike for a stunning view of the Gulf and San Juan Islands from the 497-metre (1,630-foot) summit. Feral goats, soaring eagles, falcons, and vultures reward wildlife watchers and photographers. Visit Winter Cove Marine Park.

Each Canada Day, (July 1st) boaters from all over the Pacific Northwest gather at this park for the annual lamb barbecue, a tradition for almost 50 years. The park features an anchorage, boat launch, a picnic area, walking trails, and a tidal marsh with abundant birdlife. Other community events include a crab fest, pig and salmon barbecues, a summer market at the community hall, a winter concert series and local theater.
